Colonial Williamsburg Photography Workshop
Let's go back in time and visit the site where English America began!

The Historic Triangle: Williamsburg, Jamestowne, Yorktown, offers a plethora of museums, and historic sites. We'll walk the same grounds that George Washington, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson once walked.
Come join Chris Barnes, photographer and Adobe Certified Instructor, for in the field photography lessons and classroom software discussions. This tour we are focusing on location based training. Getting photographers together in the field to share tips, learn new techniques and make some great images. This area is extremely scenic. We will be spending three days on location learning about landscape photography, HDR imaging, and on location portraiture work. Come prepared to learn and have some fun!
Starting in Colonial Williamsburg, we take in the historic homes, mansions, and plantations and be transformed back in time by live performances that recount the events in the years surrounding the American Revolution.
We'll visit Jamestowne - Founded in 1607, some 13 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth, Jamestown served as the capital of Virginia throughout the 17th century and saw the establishment of the language, customs, laws and government practiced in our nation today. Today, the National Park Service and APVA Preservation Virginia preserve and interpret our nation's roots at Historic Jamestowne, site of America's first permanent English settlement.
Next, we move to Yorktown - a 15 minute drive from Williamsburg along the scenic Colonial Parkway, is most remembered as the site of the pivotal victory in the American Revolutionary War. This picturesque waterfront village offers many photographic opportunities – it's a must-see for visitors to America's Historic Triangle. Visitors also enjoy strolling the quaint streets and riding the free trolley. The sounds and precision marching of The Fifes and Drums of York Town set the stage with patriotic music complementing the other historical attractions. We may even board the Schooner Alliance that is docked at the pier and offers daily sails, including breathtaking sunsets.
See where American independence was won at the Yorktown Battlefield, administered by the National Park Service as part of the Colonial National Historical Park. Here on October 19, 1781, British forces under Lord Charles Cornwallis surrendered to the combined American and French armies led by General George Washington, concluding the battle that signaled the beginning of the end of the fight for American independence.
